- Notes
- Service-to-service authentication uses the OAuth 2.0 client credentials flow with no interactive redirect, so the credentials are pasteable. Setup on the customer side: register an Entra application, grant it the API.ReadWrite.All application permission to the Dynamics 365 Business Central API (admin consent required), then enable the app on the 'Microsoft Entra applications' page inside Business Central and assign permissions. Token scope is https://api.businesscentral.dynamics.com/.default. A delegated (user-interactive) OAuth flow also exists but is not needed. Docs sample names the environment variable bcEnvironmentName; the field is recorded here as environment.
