Access: App must be registered in the Exact Online App Center to obtain client_id and client_secret; the redirect URI must be a public HTTPS URL (localhost not allowed). Two-step verification is integrated into the OAuth 2.0 flow; the authorization code is valid for three minutes. Until the app passes Exact's review it can only connect users from the same Exact instance that created it.
Notes: Assumed to mean Exact Online (cloud). OAuth 2.0 is the only authentication for the REST/XML APIs — no API-key or pasteable-token alternative found. Caveat: the Exact support portal renders client-side and returned a CSS/loading error on direct fetch; OAuth details above were confirmed from vendor-article excerpts surfaced in search, not a fully rendered page.
