- Recommended flow: POST Username/Password/VaultGuid to /REST/server/authenticationtokens, then send the returned token in the X-Authentication header. Field names Username/Password/VaultGuid are verbatim from the vendor docs; server_url is the connection identifier for the customer's M-Files instance. OAuth bearer tokens are also supported as an alternative.

| Username | M-Files user login name. |
| Password | Password for the M-Files user. |
| Vault GUID | Identifier of the target vault, in GUID format with braces. |
